I'm a Sex Therapist, Clinical and Consulting Sexologist, Marriage and Family Therapist and Psychotherapist in private practice. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and completed the majority of my College and University studies in the Eastern United States at Brooklyn College, Long Island University and American International College. After completing my undergraduate degree with an emphasis in Psychology, I went on to receive a Master's degree in Counseling from Springfield College, and did doctoral studies at Boston University.
I began seeing clients in 1966, in Sacramento, California. As a marital therapist with no special training in human sexuality, I found I was missing an important aspect of relationship struggles. After recognizing the need for further training in sexuality and sex therapy, I re-entered a doctoral program and was mentored by Dr. Wardell Pomeroy of the Kinsey Institute. I was trained and did an internship in sex therapy at the San Francisco Sexual Health Care Clinic, and practiced in San Francisco from 1979 - 1990. I received a doctorate from The Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in 1986.
I have practiced in Nelson, British Columbia, since 1990, became a Canadian citizen in 2006 and opened an office in Calgary in September, 2009.
My emphasis is on counselling couples and individuals to achieve their greatest relationship potential, beyond the diagnosis and treatment of relationship and/or sexual concerns, to reach the most exciting levels of their relationship with their partners.
I am a Professional Member of AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists), a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, a board certified Sexologist by the American College of Sexologists, a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Sexologists, and a Founding Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. I am also a founder of the Sex Therapy Consortium in San Francisco, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1969, and I have also qualified as an expert in Human Sexuality by the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
I am also listed in The International Who's Who in Sexology, am a member of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS), and the Sex Information and Education Councils of the United States (SIECUS) and Canada (SIECCAN), and I have served as a branch Board member and Educator for the Planned Parenthood Association of BC. I am also on the Board of Advisors for The Center for Sex and Culture in San Francisco, California.
I come to therapy from a wide background of life experience, rather than from teaching at university. I have worked in prisons, a mental institution, and business. I have been in a successful, 30-year partnership and marriage.

Dr. Perry Sirota, PhD
Dr. Perry Sirota, PhD, is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. He holds degrees from McGill and Queen's Universities. Perry has been a well-known Registered Psychologist in Calgary, Alberta, for over fifteen years. He previously practiced for ten years in Saskatchewan and Ontario. He also has an MBA, and works with organizations as a management consultant.
Perry has been helping men and women with sexual problems for over twenty years. He works with individuals and couples experiencing clinical and wellness challenges, including sexuality, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, addictions, workplace conflict, and career uncertainty.

Jodi Sirota
Ms. Jodi Sirota is Director of Serenity House Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centre, and Senior Clinician with Sirota Psychological Services. She is an addictions therapist and general counsellor with over 15 years’ experience.
She has been mentored by Dr. Hersh to help individuals and couples with a variety of sexual challenges including intimacy, lack of desire and sexually-related communication. She has also worked with all forms of sexual trauma and negative sexual experiences.

Barbara Ochsner, MA
Ms. Barbara Ochsner sees clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern # IMF 64804, fulfilling final requirements for full licensure. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco State University and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Saybrook University. She also does counseling with the Pacific Institute program AgeSong for elderly people who need to be in an assisted living environment.
She has been seeing clients since 1980, working with people who present with problems of socialization, communication, and finding and developing relationships. She also works with sexual issues and how they impact relationships. She works in consultation with many therapists in the Bay Area including Dr. David Hersh, Dr. Seth Prosterman and Dr. Charles Moser.
